Another Pizza Club meeting has come and gone, and once again I am tardy in procuring a written diatribe of our exploits. This past month in Pizza Club, we decided to switch it up a little bit. I am happy to say, that sometimes, traditions are made to be broken. With the arrival of the new Pizza Club HQ, (PCHQ), the group thought it would be apropo to christen it with our own brand of Pizza Love. We had expected massive numbers, as an invitation was extended beyond immediate Pizza Club members, a rush perhaps, if you’d like to look at it that way. Preperations were made, and Pizza crusts were created in accordance to the guest list. When the time arrived, nearly everyone not carrying Pizza Club Hero Cards had fallen to a disease known as “Lack of concern for the consumption of Pizza” — otherwise known as “Cop out” or perhaps “Bitch out”, depending on if you’re from the east or the west coast. We had homemade crust, homemade sauce, cheese by the tub, and toppings by the homeless person’s shopping cart. Much thanks and gratitude to Erica and Alicia, representing proudly for the Tava Family, and Italy as well. Without their effort, we would have been cooking up simple frozen Pizza’s, but that my friends, is a story for another day.
We had enough Pizza for forty people, and nearly eleven showed up. I have to say, the Pizza that was consumed was delicious, and of quite a wide variety. There were Pizzas for lovers of meat, vegetables, the pineapples, everything! It was fun for an evening, but I think Erica and Alicia would agree, there’s a reason that Pizza Club doesn’t own their own Pizza establishment; it’s a hell of a lot of work!
A shout out to Mindy and Sindee, who were the only non-Pizza Club members to actually show. They shared in the joy that is Pizza Club, and I’m sure they’ll be knocking on the door the next time Pizza Club is in town.
After we devoured almost all the Pizza that was lovingly created, we went and saw the cinematic adventure of Clerks 2. I don’t think it’s too early, but I’m feeling Oscar buzz, and I don’t think I’m alone. I certainly don’t want to jinx it though.
Coming Soon: Pizza Club in August! This time, it’s Pizza-er than ever!
